Viv Edwards is Professor of Language and Education at the University of Reading. She has a specialist interest in learning and teaching in multilingual classrooms and has published widely in this area. Although most of her work has focused on languages spoken by more recent arrivals in the British Isles, her childhood in Wales has ensured that she is also very interested in the 'Older Mother Tongues'. For the last two years she has co-ordinated the EC-funded project: Fabula: bilingual, multimedia storybooks for children.
